don't
know what happened
yesterday
don't know the history
of the country
or their family
or their time
don't know the trials &
tribulations
people went through
to survive and make it
have no understanding of
suffering
and sacrifice
denial
pain
all they know are video games
texting
facebook
instant gratification
a world of amusement
and triviality
a world
given to speed
not knowledge
fun
not freedom
it will end this way
when the video games short circuit
when the plug gets pulled
they won't know what to do
with themselves
with stark reality
the dark will overwhelm them
they will have no noise
no flashing lights
no celebrities to point the way
no hollywood to
follow
and all their
comfort foods
digitial distractions
will fizzle
when the cloud vaporizes
and
screens go blank
they won't know what to do
where to turn
since they
don't know who they are
because they do not know
what came
before
them.
