Over
black box houses
in the early morn
the sun comes up
with no introduction
it just happens
that the sky is waiting
for it
ready for its
new clothes
of glorious colors and
brilliant light
the sun awakens
the day
and something
in all of us
makes us
pause in step
and stare in wonderment
drinking in the beauty
that will quench our thirst
for the rest of the day
each of us will get to see it
remark to others
use it in our conversations
for how often do you see
the stroke of genius
before your very eyes
the sunrise is a gift
that comes packaged
in beautiful colors and fancy ribbons
left every morning
on our doorstep
don't wait
open it.
