THROUGH A LOOKING GLASS

by David Knape

Sometimes in the mirror
a stranger's face I see,
sometimes through a looking glass
I don't recognize the me in me

I wish that time was slower
its passing not so stark,
that when I look back at it
it would have had a kinder heart.
