THE TRAIN

The lonesome whistle
of the train
reminds us of
past hurt and pain

Midnight memories
still remain
return with train's
lonely refrain

The haunting past
we thought had died
repeats to echo
deep inside

In passing
still we must confide
how sweet the song
the train provides.
