WAGER NO WOUNDS

by David Knape
When told of her son's
untimely demise,
his mother gave these words
so motherly wise

Courage was one thing
my Jim never lacked,
"I'll wager no wounds
were found in his back"

Not one to back off
or run from a fight,
my Jim always fought
for what he thought right

He would have never retreated
when under attack,
"I'll wager no wounds
were found in his back".
