    We Don't Go Much Anymore

    by David Knape

    We don't go much anymore
    stick pretty close to home,
that's where all our stuff is
don't have no need to roam,
it took 40 years for us
    to get this goldarned far,
no reason to go someplace else
    we're happy where we are

The bed's the way we like it
used to its dips and folds,
    others ain't as pleasin'
guess we don't fit the mold,
    and then there's the recliners
the one place that we find
    adjusts to our dimensions
and mends our backs and minds

    Our toothbrushes are handy
just where we left 'em last,
our books are on the table
our teeth are in the glass,
    plus there's the facilities
    they're nearby and we find
    a stall is always open
no need to wait in line

    Yep, travelin's a fun affair
but it just ain't our speed,
'cause all the stuff we left behind
    becomes the stuff we need,
so we don't go much anymore
it's too much stress to pack,
what's the sense in all the goin'
when you're wishin' you were back.
