Previous page .......... a Prof. Ireland who just happened to be the California State Geologist of the time, although our source omits how they met. He then spent some time in Oklahoma where he met and married Miss Mellie Keenan in 1894. Mellie was 13 years younger than her husband and although she was living in Oklahoma, she was a native Kansan (but we're told she strongly resembled a South Dakotan).
