Settled
in the last quarter of the 19th the community had enough people to justify a post
office in 1892 – even though it only lasted about 20 years.

Ola was quiet and from 72 residents in 1900 it dipped to a mere 30 for the 1910
census. It reported 72 again from 1930 through the mid 1960s when it fell again.
