History in a Pecan Shell

Named either for Ozro High, or Ozro Cheatham, the town had a post office (1898 – 1906) and a school (1915 to 1944) which later consolidated with the Maypearl ISD.

The TxDoT map of Ellis County shows cemeteries N and W of Maypearl.
