Post cards from Texas Escapes archive
Carnegie Library in Waco razed (46954 bytes)
1.Carnegie Library in Waco, razed, no date. For many years the entire back of US postcards was "for address only" and messages had to be scribbled in what little space was left on the front. People were known to pay a little more for these cards and this was known as "buying on margin". If, however, you were laconic like Will, there was room to spare.

Fig 2. Will was impressed enough with the Waco library to send two images to a Mrs. Kelly in Temple. Sent in August of 1907, I’m sure she was astonished by the weather report from nearly 35 miles away. At first we thought the crack in the façade was the result of geologic shifting, but we called Mr. Balcones and he said; "It’s not my fault."
