History
on a Pinhead
Settled by Wends in the late 1850s, the community was a spore colony
from the Wendish base of Serbin.
The Trinity Lutheran Church opened in 1870 and ten years later a post
office was granted, honoring the local storekeeper Fedor Soder. The
1884 population was 130 but many residents moved to Thorndale. The
post office closed in 1905. The population has remained slightly below
100 from the mid 1930s. |
