Song Of The Mockingbird

by David Knape

Sing out your song
of poetic words
rejoice in the voice
of a Mockingbird

A poet's rhymes
can always be heard
if sung from the heart
like a Mockingbird

From the treetops, sing
with voice assured
sing with pure joy
like a Mockingbird

Wings may be clipped
yet words still heard
can't still the song
of a Mockingbird.
