In
Texas yall, the tales are tall and
Woman
Hollerin' Creek is one for all
you see there was
a Spanish woman who
mourned for her lover
who deserted her to
run off with another, left the baby too
poor senorita didn't know what to do
So she despaired, her choices few
drowned the baby in the creek
threw herself in too
her sorrows drowned
in waters blue
who knows the legend may be true
they say the senorita
still wails for you
Don't get too close
or once again
her arms will reach
and pull you in
she moans in tears
still hollerin'
atoning for
her wretched sin
The senorita still hollers
when you cross the creek
east of San Antone
the spot she leaped
you'll see the sign there
your interest peaked
then listen for the wailing
on Woman
Hollerin' Creek.
