History on a PinheadThe
community had been granted a post office in 1885 which closed sometime after 1915.
Today the community once again has a post office as well as a high school and
the historic Salem cemetery on spur 106. Sayers remains on the state map although
there’s no discernable town center. Several business line the highway including
the hub of activity – a convenience/ grocery store/ gas station.
After WWII the town lost
most of its business due to its proximity to San
Antonio. |
