History
on a Pinhead
There's not too much known about Clarkson - other than a post office was
in operation between 1889 and 1906 and that the combined enrollment of their separate
schools amounted to 148 in 1903. The schools were absorbed by Cameron
ISD during the statewide consolidations of the early 50s. |

Two sets of my great grandparents were part of that church and community for many
years. Ed Mitchell who was one of the builders, was assisted by my grandfather,
who as a young boy helped carry shingles up for the roof. Thanks for all your
