History on a Pinhead

There's not too much known about Clarkson - other than a post office was in operation between 1889 and 1906 and that the combined enrollment of their separate schools amounted to 148 in 1903. The schools were absorbed by Cameron ISD during the statewide consolidations of the early 50s.

Subject: Re: Clarkson community (Milam County)
Enjoy your site very much. Was pleased to see the picture of the church and school in Clarkson. Two sets of my great grandparents were part of that church and community for many years. Ed Mitchell who was one of the builders, was assisted by my grandfather, who as a young boy helped carry shingles up for the roof. Thanks for all your work. - Charlotte A. McKinney, June 18, 2005
