BAYVIEW, TEXAS

Absorbed Ghost Town

Galveston County, Texas Gulf Coast
History in a Seashell

Once located North of FM 646 and just East of State Highway 146 between Kemah and Clifton-by-the-Sea, Bayview was an unincorporated village. It did appear on maps at one time and had a post office of its own which operated from 1902 through 1913. Mail was later rerouted through Kemah. In the late 1930s the tiny community quietly merged as the nearby towns of Bacliff and Kemah grew.
