Note:
“This populous little town was once mainly a farming community. Many
people residing there now work in nearby Sinton, Corpus
Christi, and the surrounding area. The old businesses along the
old highway are mostly gone now. A new four-lane highway (181) occupies
the land where the railroad tracks were and grain elevators once stood. The
town currently has a convenience store and a tire shop where earlier
a gas station once existed.” - William
