Named Clalkton in 1926 after the rancher who owned the land where the oil
discovery was made, Chalkton was a boom town - for awhile. Both the town and post
office changed their names to Otis Chalk in 1939. Shortly after WWII, Otis Chalk
had fifty residents which has since increased to 79. |
