One of Rusk County’s
earliest settlements, there is very little early history available.
First population figures from the 1930s show just 25 residents served
by six businesses.
The community peaked in the 1940s with 125 residents. Postwar relocation
decreased the population to a mere 23 by the time of the 1980s census.
The same figure was given for 2000.
the late 1800's, Concord School operated until 1966, first as a
high school, and later as an eighth grade school. The school was
dismantled in 1977.
