History in a Pecan Shell

Also known as Salem, the date of settlement is unclear but assumed to be after 1850. The oldest tombstone in the Old Salem Cemetery is inscribed 1880.

The town once had a school but there doesn’t appear to have been a distinct business center. It was and continues to be an agricultural community with details of its history unavailable.
