| The
1872 courthouse in Frio Town, the first county seat, was burned in 1877. A new
stone courthouse was constructed with assistance of local rancher W. J. Slaughter,
and is still standing today on private property in Old
Frio Town. |

| "The
old courthouse is about 16 miles northwest of Pearsall
on FM 140 on the opposite side of the road from the Old Frio Town cemetery. It
is not close to the road and is on private property. Do not trespass! The
first story is completely covered by overgrown brush. I took this photo from the
top of a ladder on the side of the road using the digital zoom on my camera."
