History in a Pecan Shell

Josť Narciso Cavazos was the owner of the original land grant. Descendants allowed Will Harding and Lamar Gill (the name is an amalgam of theirs) to found the town in 1921. By 1931 the community was a mere 25 residents and never got too much higher.

By 1950 it was an estimated 40 people but has slowly declined to the current (2000) 15.
