| A
fairly recent addition to Kyle's interesting buildings is the former home of author
Katherine Ann Porter. Ms. Porter was actually born in Indian Creek, Texas,
but spent about ten years of her girlhood here. The Porter House is a few blocks
west of "downtown" Kyle on the right (North) side of the street
