History on
a Pinhead
The
town is said to have been named after a horse, but there’s no one
around today who can answer the burning questions of “Why?” and “Whose
horse?”
When the Quanah, Acme and Pacific railroad came through Cottle
County, Narcisso received a station. This was in the early years
of the 1910s.
In 1919 the Swenson Land and Cattle Company donated land for a school
and although it was built, it didn’t last. By 1940, the town and the
horse it was named after were history.
