History in a Pecan Shell

The community was once on the Wichita Falls and Southern Railroad. It was named for local landowner and rancher John Crittendon Bullock who donated land for the school and station. Little history is available, but a school was still in operation in the 30s, until the students were transferred to Newcastle schools around 1941. The school and railroad switch had disappeared by the mid 1960s.
