History in a Pecan Shell

Imogene was one of three towns named after the daughters of developer Charles F. Simmons.

It had a post office for less than a year. Although census figures aren't available, there were 49 students enrolled in Imogene's school in 1934.

During WW II, the Humble Oil Company built a housing development for its employees there, but Imogene was dropped from maps sometime in the 1980s.
