History on a Pinhead

This town is shown on several maps, although there is no history available from our usual sources.

It’s possible that it was named in homage to the athlete Jim Thorpe, but without a date, it would be hard to match the town with the man (who did have a town in Pennsylvania named after him (posthumously).

A second Thorpe, Texas is found in NW Schleicher County.
