Cave Creek - History on a Pinhead

This once all German-settlement dates from the second half of the 19th Century and was named after the nearby watercourse, a tributary of the Pedernales River. The population never got large enough to pose a threat to Fredericksburg , and it’s more than likely that its nearness to the county seat curtailed Cave Creek’s growth. The cemetery, also known as St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery holds the remains of the community’s earliest settlers, but there are only scattered residences and no discernable town center.

Photographer's Note:
"Cave Creek TX - Located about 12 miles east of Fredericksburg on FM1631. Scattered residences with many new developements and homes coming in with the expanding growth of nearby popular Fredericksburg. The photo of the city limit sign tells it all, you enter and leave at the same time!" - Will Beauchamp, March 2011
