History in a Pecan Shell

A survivor of the timber boom of the late 19th – early 20th century, Yellowpine appeared in the 1890s and peaked in 1914 with a population estimated at 75.

The town had a post office in operation from 1902 through the early 1950s. The population has remained under 100 from the late 1960s through the 2000 census.
